If you make a lot of long distance calls, you’ll want to look into Skype – it’s an internet phone service that lets you use your computer to make and receive phone calls. It’s easy to set up on your computer, all you need is an inexpensive microphone or headset that you can buy at Radio Shack or any other electronics store. Key Best Practices to Keep Your Computer Safe
In these days of increasing dependency on electronic methods of communication like email, text messaging, IM etc, it is imperative that each one of us adopt some key best practices to avoid SPAM (not the edible kind, but the un-solicited emails that flood your inbox) and your computer getting infected with viruses, spyware, Trojans and malware.
1. Please refrain from opening up any e-mail with attachments, if you are not expecting it or you do not know the sender (delete and then empty “Deleted Items Folder” with a right click. It is also prudent to not open up any e-mail with attachments even if it is from a person you know unless you are expecting it. The reason being that if a virus infects any PC containing your e-mail address on that PC’s address book, you may get an infected email as part of the virus maker’s strategy and then in turn if it gets in through your anti-virus defenses for any reason your PC will get infected and in turn may send out similar e-mail to others in your address book.
